Cheryl Wold, MPH, Principal Consultant and Founder

Cheryl assists clients--primarily from the non-profit and public-sector organizations--with using data and technology in innovative and collaborative ways to address the many factors that shape health.


She employs skills and expertise drawn from extensive experience in public health and epidemiology as well as involvement in numerous local and nationwide networks.


Previously, Cheryl was the Chief of the Health Assessment Unit in the Los Angeles County Public Health Department and held similar roles in Massachusetts where she received her MPH in Epidemiology from Boston University School of Public Health.

  • Research supporting California HealthCare Foundation's "Free the Data" initiative, including Open Data Case Studies.
  • Presentations at the 2014 and 2015 Open Data Fests in Sacramento as well as the Healthy Community Data Summits in 2013 and 2014.
  • Organized the Community Health Track for the 2014 Health Datapalooza.
  • Services to the Children's Data Network and First 5 LA develop new ways to share information about the condition of children and families in Los Angeles County.
  • Development of WIC Data: 2003-2009: A report on low-income families with young children in Los Angeles County, in partnership with PHFE-WIC.
  • Assistance to LA County Public Health Department on behalf of The California Endowment on Prevention and Wellness proposals for CDC funding.
  • Extensive work developing indicators, including a study of health indicator practices in the U.S. and internationally as background for a Committee of the Institute of Medicine Committee charged with selecting health indicators for the U.S.
